[金点1] —Whose bike is this? 这是谁的自行车?
—It’s his bike. / It’s his.
是他的(自行车)。
此句中第一个his是形容词性物主代词,第二个his是名词性物主代词,物主代词用来修饰、限定一个名词时,则用形容词性物主代词;第二个his= his bike,它是名词性物主代词,其后不再加名词。如:
Our books are new = The new books are ours.
His bag is green = The green bag is his.
Their desks are all here = The desks here are all theirs.
与his情况用法相同的还有its,既是形容词性物主代词,也是名词性物主代词。
[链接]现将我们所学的人称代词和物主代词归类如下:
注:主格在句中作主语,往往位于句首。宾格在句中作宾语,一般放在介词、动词之后。
[金点2] —Whose cat is that? 那只猫是谁的?
—It’s her cat. / It’s hers.
是她的(猫)。
(1)Whose代词,意为“谁的”,其后加名词或不加都行。如:
Whose computer is that? 那是谁的电脑?= Whose is that computer?
Whose book is this?这本书是谁的? = Whose is this book?
(2)hers代词,意为“她的”。hers为名词性物主代词,其后不能再加名词。
[金点3]I think it’s Li Ming’s. 我认为(想)是李明的。
(1)I think可作为插入语,通常放在句尾或句中。如:
—What’s that?
那是什么?
—A plane, I think.
我想是架飞机。
(2)当不能简单地用Yes或No回答的时候,可用I think来表达。如:
—Can you spell it?
你会拼写(它)吗?
—I don’t think so.
我想我不会。
[金点4]注意缩写形式的’s和名词所有格’s的区别。
名词所有格一般表示“所有”或“所属”关系,译为“……的”,形式为名词加上’s。要判断是所有格还是缩写形式必须根据具体的语境。如:
That’s a book.那是一本书。
(that’s是that is的缩写形式,意为“那是”。)
Maria’s book is here. 玛丽亚的书在这里。
(Maria’s是名词所有格,意为“玛丽亚的”。)
[拓展]
(1)单数名词词尾加’s,复数名词词尾没有s的,也要加’s,表示所有格。如:
the boy’s food 男孩的食物 men’s room男厕所。
(2)名词已有复数(即词尾已有s),则只加“’”,表示所有格。如:
a girls’ school女子学校 Teachers’ Day教师节
(3)如果两个名词并列且分别有’s,则表示分别拥有,如果只是最后一个名词后有’s,则表示“共有”。如:
John’s and Mary’s room(各有一个房间)。
John and Mary’s room(共有一个房间)。

clothes总以复数形式出现,统指各种衣服,包括上衣、裤子、裙子、帽子和鞋等,不指单件衣服,也不和表具体数字的数词连用。它作主语时,谓语用复数。如:
My new clother are

我的新衣服是广东生产的。
Don’t judge a person by the clothes he wears.
不要以貌取人。
[链接]我们已学过的服装名词有:dress女服,连衣裙,cap帽子,shoes鞋,coat外套,大衣,skirt短裙,shirt(男式)衬衫,T-shirt T恤衫,pants / trousers裤子,jacket夹克衫。
我们常见的其他服装有:tie领带,jeans牛仔裤,sweater毛衣,gloves手套,socks短袜。
[金点6]This man is from Canada.这位男子来自加拿大。
man的复数形式是men; woman(女人)的复数形式是women,注意women的读音是/’wimin/。
[拓展]当man, woman作定语修饰名词时,如果名词是复数,那么man和woman也用复数形式。如:
men teachers 男教师 women doctors女医生
[金点7]Please help us find him.请帮我们找到他。
注意此句中动词help的句型。“帮助某人干某事”可以是help + sb. do sth., 也可以是help + sb. to do sth., 或help sb. with sth.如:
Please help me(to)make the card.
请帮我制作这张卡片。

巧学妙记:
[说明]形容词性物主代词转化成名词性物主代词可以归纳为“一二四原则”,即:一变:my→mine,二留(同形)its→its;his→his;四个r断后的则在词尾直接加s:our→ours;your→yours;her→hers;their→theirs。
